Modelling for improvement

In February 2011 WSP was awarded the prize for the best example of applying systems modelling to address a real-world problem by the UK System Dynamics Society.  The case study described one element of the modelling work being undertaken for North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus – also the location of a Pathfinder GP Consortium – in exploring the challenges of realising revenue reductions in the provision of home care.

The important contribution that modelling can make has recently been highlighted by nearly 30 academics from about 20 Universities, an initiative with which WSP is closely aligned.

Our wealth of modelling experience has resulted in three important new Framework Models.  These are available to you free of charge on auto-running CDs (i.e. you don't need any special software to use them) and explore the impact of key policy changes for a typical set of local needs.

The models, developed in partnership with our clients (including national bodies such as the National End of Life Care Programme for England and the Social Services Improvement Agency in Wales), explore the impact of current policy implementation and financial challenges across health and social care in the areas of:

Our aim is to build on these to develop network and learning opportunities through the WSP online learning network, a facility already available for reablement.

Get your CDs now and you will be able to help inform and shape the development of the new learning networks.

To receive one of these auto-run CDs free of charge please send an email, including your postal address, to heather.wheeler@thewholesystem.co.uk.
