What’s happening?
These events are planned to give people opportunities to apply their faith in ‘the 3rd place’:
Saturday morning programme
3rd Place meets in the Lavender Tea Rooms each Saturday morning (except the first Saturday each month) – download a programme opposite:
- There are two new regular features – a course in ‘questions people ask’ covering the big issues like suffering, science and faith, the uniqueness of the Christian Faith and other big questions and a study course on the Christian disciplines and what they mean for us today, like prayer, fasting and meditation;
- We continue to meet for prayer on the 4th Saturday of each month;
- Open Breakfast Discussions continue bi-monthly – see the programme for details.
Meetings start at 8.30 for 8.45 with breakfast and finish at about 10.15.
Shakespeare with faith – On the evening of the 18th June 2009 there will be a performance of Shakespeare’s The Tempest followed by an opportunity to reflect on some of the underlying themes of the play from a faith perspective.
Book club
A book club now meets regularly to explore Christian and secular books in a local café. Good coffee and a good book with a faith perspective – contact gilly.lacey@btopenworld.com for more details.
Bible studies in a 3rd place (or more than one) have started using material specifically designed to help people apply their faith in their 24/7 lifestyles. We are developing a ‘virtual space’ using facebook – please e-mail admin@3rdplace.org.uk if you’d like to join this facebook group and link with others across the movement.
Send us your details and we will contact you with more information.
