Thinking about relationships in health – A working conference (2 days)

WSP and the University of Leeds, School of Healthcare Studies, are working together in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership to explore the important issue of the contribution that relationships play in health and care policy and strategy. WSP have long recognised their central role in its strategic and partnership development consultancy work. We are now seeking to develop new and innovative ways of recognising and working with the relational side of policy and strategy development and implementation, and it is our hope that you would like to play a part in that journey.
Thursday afternoon, 2:30 to 5:30 – laying the ground…..
- The importance of relationships – Dr. Jonathan Shapiro (Senior Academic and Chair, Mental Health Trust)
- First thoughts about relational value and relational dynamics – ‘our proposition’, Peter Lacey (Senior Director, WSP)
- A review of thinking about relationships from the literature – Dr. Paul Grimshaw (KTP Associate)
- How our language about relationships reflects our underlying worldviews – Dr. Brennan Jacoby (Philosopher, writer and consultant).
Thursday evening – a dinner with speaker Jill Quinn: stories about when relationships really matter.
Friday morning, 9:00 to 12:30, followed by lunch: – working sessions to explore how we might recognise, enable and encourage the development of relational value.
