Place-based planning is a way of thinking about, identifying and responding to the health and wellbeing needs of a distinct population (in the 50k to 70k range) at a scale that enables local solutions to bring the greatest benefit to the wider system of care.
There is focus on:
- health and wellbeing
- community assets
- access to services
The WSP approach to placed-based planning has been developed over the last 15 years through our client projects. For a summary of the development path please see here.
Place based planning draws on key strengths in the WSP approach of population based planning that links the current and transformed service delivery plan with requirements for a future workforce with potentially re-aligned skill mix and new roles fitted to the future needs.
